How Reactoonz works

Reactoonz runs on a 7x7 grid where clusters of five or more matching alien symbols touching horizontally or vertically form a win. Winning symbols are removed and new ones fall in from above, cascading until no new cluster forms. The grid is the same size as Sugar Rush and similar games, but the mechanics are more layered.

Two systems run alongside the cluster engine: the Instability meter, which tracks charged symbols entering winning clusters and fires Quantum features as it fills, and the Gargantoon path, which opens once the meter reaches full charge and an Unstable symbol appears. The base game is never just spinning for clusters; the meter is always progressing toward something.

Implosion converts five random non-winning symbols to wilds and clears adjacent symbols. Alteration takes the second-least-common type and transforms it into the least-common type, concentrating clusters. Incision draws a full line of wilds across the grid.

Each feature changes the state of the grid before the next cascade, and because cascades can re-trigger the meter charge, a feature early in a cascade chain can set up a second feature later in the same spin. That chaining is where a quiet base game can suddenly produce a substantial win.

The Gargantoon wild

When the Instability meter reaches full charge, an Unstable symbol appears on the grid. When that symbol is part of a winning cluster or removed by a Quantum feature, the Gargantoon arrives, a 3x3 wild covering nine grid positions. It substitutes for all regular symbols in any overlapping cluster.

Each time the Gargantoon contributes to a win, it shrinks one size: 3x3 to 2x2, then 2x2 to 1x1. At each size it remains a wild, so a Gargantoon that lands on a grid rich with matching symbols can contribute to three or more successive cascades before disappearing. Landing the Gargantoon alongside a strong symbol distribution is the game’s highest-value scenario and the primary driver of its largest wins.

Reactoonz versus newer cluster-pays titles

Reactoonz predates most of the current cluster-pays field. Where newer titles typically use a single growing multiplier mechanic, Reactoonz uses four distinct Quantum features plus the Gargantoon, creating a wider variety of in-session events.
